The brace is fairly easy to put on depending on your dog's cooperation...Pretty much a painless thing. No instructions came with it so I'll share my thoughts. Undo both straps, UNLOCK THE FLEXOR/EXTENSOR HINGE. You want limited flexion (bending of the knee), not so important that the extension is less limited. The aim with a damaged ACL is to keep the femur from sliding forward during movement. Practice limiting the flexion of the hinge joint before locking it, you may have to wiggle it a little to lock. Now slip the paw into the sleeve and carefully pull up on the brace until the hinge in at or above the 'knee joint'. Then bring the over the body strap under and over the hindquarters and fasten securely. Lastly, fasten the velcro strap securely near to the ankle.
